It quickly became a shared passion and has continued to grow over the years.\n\n## Our Path to Beekeeping\n\n### Romi\n\n::ginko-layout\n:::ginko-column{size=\"lg\"}\nDuring her biology studies and her work as a **field ecologist**, her interest in insects was sparked, and she researched the important role they play for our environment and ultimately for us humans. At the end of 2019, Romi **moved to the countryside** with her parents. There, they dedicated themselves together to actively promoting biodiversity on their 1.5-hectare property. One of their main goals was to combine self-sufficiency with fresh food with **regenerative management**. He began experimenting with building nesting boxes for their closest relatives, the bumblebees, and in **2019, he got his first two bee colonies**. As a **passionate tinkerer and craftsman**, he soon began to optimize his operating methods and design his first own beehives. We bought a honey extractor, invested in storage containers, and were very happy that more and more friends and family became interested in our honey 🍯☺️.\n\nWe always wanted to share our enthusiasm for nature, for regional and sustainably produced food, and for biodiversity.
